Service Campaign: Reprogram PCM, Clean or replace the intake shutter valve if necessary

On certain vehicles, shutter valve may stick at closed position because of accumulated soot around the shutter valve. In the worst case, the engine stalls may occur.

Service Campaign: Improvement on vehicle’s internal electrical communication
Model : Mazda CX-9
Affected Vehicles Build dates : 13 Sep 2017 to 16 Jan 2018


Due to a change on production process, malfunctions can occur in the passenger frontal air bag system, turn signals, and the engine starting system. In the worst case, the passenger frontal air bags may not deploy when an accident occurs, turn signal lights may become inoperable, and the engine cannot be restarted.

Service Campaign: Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module
Model : Mazda6 & CX-5
Affected Vehicles Build dates : 19 Feb 2018 to 18 Apr 2019


Due to inappropriate programming of control software which controls operation of the cylinder, it may cause an engine misfire and loss of power and/or Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illumination. In the worst case, engine damage may occur, resulting in engine stall while driving without ability to be restarted, which may increase the risk of a crash.

Service Campaign: Replacement of Front Body Control Module (F-BCM)
Model : Mazda3
Affected Vehicles Build dates : 20 Jul 2015 to 11 Jul 2017


Due to inappropriate design of the wiper relay contact and poor compatibility with the wiper motor, metal deposits may occur at the relay contact, eventually sticking in the driving part of the wiper relay in which disrupts the electrical power to the wiper motor, causing inoperative of the front windscreen wipers. Drivers may experience reduced or poor visibility while driving due to inoperative front windscreen wipers.

Service Campaign: Replacing Modified Part and Re-programming software
Model : Mazda MX-5
Affected Vehicles Build dates : May 2015 to Apr 2017


Mazda Motor Corporation announced a recall campaign for above mentioned Mazda MX-5. Modified part and software re-programming are prepared for enhancing the vehicle durability in this recall campaign. As DCDC converter program was inappropriate, the circuit will be short-circuited and the power will be directly supplied from the alternator to battery and vehicle. If the vehicle continues to be used with such conditions, the DCDC converter may smoke. In the worst case, the battery may run out, the engine will be stopped unexpectedly or may lead to fire.

Service Campaign: Modified Parts Installation
Model : Mazda2 & Mazda3
Affected Vehicles Build dates : Mazda2 - Jul 2007 to Oct 2010
  Mazda3 - Mar 2009 to Aug 2010


Mazda Motor Corporation announced a Recall Campaign for abovementioned Mazda2 & Mazda3. Modified part is prepared for enhancing the vehicle durability.


A. Driver seat bracket


A Driver Seat Bracket will be installed to enhance the durability for the seat height adjustment lifter, to avoid any possibilities of insufficient strength of the seat lifter link.


Abnormal noise or rattling might be caused or unable to maintain an appropriate driving position. There is no associated accident is received regarding this issue in Hong Kong.Vang Iek Motors (HK) Limited will arrange this service for our Mazda owners directly.

Service Campaign: Replacing Modified Parts
Model : Mazda RX8


Mazda Motor Corporation announced a Safety Recall Campaign for Mazda RX8 Modified parts will be prepared for enhancing the vehicle durability.


A. Front Lower Arm Ball Joint


The front lower arm ball joint case may have a crack during caulking process at production stage. There is a possibility that the ball joint case may be broken and detached from the ball joint if a large load is applied during driving.


There is no associated accident is received regarding this issue in Hong Kong. Vang Iek Motors (HK) Limited is now waiting for Parts Allocation from Manufacturer and will contact our Mazda RX8 owners directly for the detailed arrangement.

Service Campaign: Replacing Modified Parts and Re-programming software
Model : Mazda 6 2.2L Diesel


Mazda Motor Corporation announced a Safety Recall Campaign for Mazda 6 2.2L Diesel. Several modified parts will be prepared for enhancing the vehicle durability.


A. Injector Gasket Insufficient Sealing


The inspection and re-tightening of the injector mounting nuts within appropriate torque is a preventive measure to avoid the engine oil being carbonized and causing the oil strainer being clogged.


B. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Re-programme


The modified PCM software Re-programme is a preventive measure, to avoid the injector control circuit from being short-circuited, allowing fuel injection stop and causing engine stall.


C. Preventing Fuel Return Hose leakage


Replacing the modified Fuel Return Hose is a preventive measure. It is possible that the sealing performance of the fuel return hose attaching portion may decrease and a crack may be generated inside the hose. If the vehicle continues to be used with such condition, the crack may progress, resulting in the fuel leak from the fuel return hose.


There is no immediate effect on the operation of the vehicle and no associated accident is received regarding this issue in Hong Kong. Vang Iek Motors (HK) Limited will contact you directly for the detailed arrangement.
